Tour Details
The tour starts with an exploration of Leh visiting local bazaars and Buddhist monasteries along the Indus valley. A drive westwards along the river takes us to the quaint and beautiful Likir village, the starting point of our trek.
First three days of we will trek cross the high passes of Chagatse La (3630m) and Tsermangchan La (3750m), the highest point of our trek, both offering breathtaking views of the Ladakhi landscape - rough, rugged and barren dotted by tiny villages, monasteries perched on high mountain tops and a high Himalayan culture and lifestyle that has remained hidden and unchanged over centuries. Next, our trek descends to the exquisite Rizong monastery, located just north of the Indus followed by Hemis Shukpachan, a picturesque village and an uphill ascend to Temisgam (3600m).
The final stage of the tour takes us down to the road head at Khaltse, followed by a drive to Lamayuru where we will visit the famous monastery, dramatically perched high on a rock overlooking the village and bringing our thrilling adventure to a fitting finish.

DAY 01 - Delhi
Arrive Delhi and transfer to hotel for check-in, afternoon and evening free
Arrive at the international airport of Delhi. After a traditional 'Swagat' (Welcome) our KVT’s representative would assist you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel for check-in. Rest of the day is free to relax at the hotel or can explore the nearby area.

DAY 02 - Leh
Early morning fly to Leh, arrive and transfer to hotel. Afternoon rest and evening stroll around the local market area
Early morning we will be transferred to the Airport to board the internal flight to Leh, which passes over the Himalayan Ranges with breathtaking views and it will brings us to a fertile valley just to the north of the mighty Indus River (this flight is subject to weather). After such a highly spectacular flight over the Himalayas, we arrive in Leh airport. Upon arrival, we will be transferred to the hotel for check-in. Rest of the day is free for you to relax and acclimatize to the high altitude weather. Late afternoon there will be a gentle orientation walk of Leh and its local market.

DAY 03 - Leh
Local exploration in Leh visiting bazaars, Shanti stupa and Leh Palace
Today we do the local exploration, visiting the bazaar (local market) of Leh. Then, we visit Shanti Stupa which is a Buddhist white-domed stupa (chorten) on a hilltop in Chanspa, in the north Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. This was built by Japanese monks to promote world peace. The Shanti Stupa holds the relics of the Buddha at its base, enshrined by the 14th Dalai Lama himself. Later we visit Leh Palace, nine storey palace built in 1553. One can have the beautiful view of Leh city and surrounding mountains. After that we come back to hotel and relax.

DAY 04 - Leh
Sightseeing tour of Leh
This morning after breakfast we proceed for the sightseeing tour of Leh city, visit Hemis Monastery; it is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery (gompa) of the Drukpa Lineage. It holds the distinction of being the biggest as well as the wealthiest monastery of Ladakh. The annual Hemis festival in which locals including the monks (Lamas) celebrates the birth anniversary of honoring Guru Padmasambhava (Guru Rimpoche) at the courtyard of Hemis Monastery. Then we head towards Thiksey Monastery located on top of the hill which holds the resemblance of Potala Palace in Lhasa (Tibet). Thiksey Monastery houses a large statue of Buddha and this is one of the most frequently visited monasteries in Ladakh region. After that we visit Shey Palace on the way to Leh. The monastery is noted for its giant copper with gilded gold statue of a seated Shakyamuni Buddha. It is said to be the second largest such statue in Ladakh then after the visit we return back to the hotel and relax.

DAY 05 - Likir
Drive to Alchi and then to Likir
Today we drive to Alchi village and visit Alchi Monastery. It is one of the oldest and famous monasteries of Ladakh. Alchi Monastery was founded in 11th century and it is located on the bank of Indus River, later we drive to Likir and visit Likir Monastery. Likir monastery was founded in 1065 AD and it has a 23 metre (75 ft.) gold-covered Buddha statue then we rest at the camps. (3400m | distance: 90km)

DAY 06 - Yangthang
Trek to Yangthang en-route crossing Phobe La (3580m) and Chagatse La (3630m) (Trek begins)
Early morning after breakfast we get ready for the beginning of our trek from Likir village so we start trekking towards Yangthang. The trail from here ascends towards a small pass called Phobe La (‘La’ means Pass in Tibetan) (3580m), after crossing this pass we arrive at Sumdo Village then we keep on walking and leave behind Sumdo. We will be crossing a stream on a wooden bridge and follow the road again. Then again we leave the road and climb up to the pass of Chagatse La (3630m); one can see the small settlement of Yangthang village which is our campsite for the night. DAY 07 - Yangthang
Excursion to Rizong Monastery
After breakfast we proceed for the excursion trip to Rizong Monastery. We walk through the village descending to the stream from where one enters to a narrow gorge that leads to the monastery; after crossing the gorge we reach on a rough Motor-able road which enters into another gorge to reach the monastery. After walking for some more time we reach at a point from where we will have the glimpse of Rizong monastery. Rizong is the most isolated monastery of all the monasteries in Ladakh. After the visit we trek back to Yangthang village by following the same route. (3630m | 4-5hrs trek)

DAY 08 - Hemis Shukpachan
Trek to Hemis Shukpachan en-route cross Tsermangchan La (3750m)
This morning we have breakfast and leave for Hemis Shukpachen village our next campsite for the night. It is a short trek to reach Hemis Shukpachen village and on the way we will be crossing another pass that is Tsermangchan La (3750m) to reach the village. (3600m | 2-3 hrs. trekking)

DAY 09 - Temisgam
Trek to Temisgam en-route cross Meptak La (3750m)
Today we start trekking towards Temisgam en-route we will be passing Ang village. So we start our trek and follow the trail that goes upwards to Meptak La (3750m) we cross the pass and descend towards Ang village which is situated on the banks of a river then we cross the river and trek all the way down to reach Temisgam village. (3600m | 5-6hrs trekking)

DAY 10 - Leh
Trek to Khaltse village (Trek ends), visit Lamayuru Monastery and drive to Leh
This day the trek is easy and we have to cross only one pass Bongbong La (3700m) and after crossing the pass we will reach Khaltse village the nearest road head (Trek ends | 3-4hrs trek). From here we will be transferred to Lamayuru by vehicle and visit Lamayuru Monastery. This is one of the oldest and largest monasteries in Ladakh region. The monastery is famous for its rich wall paintings, collection of thangkas, murals, scriptures and statues of different forms of Buddha and other deities. Afterwards we drive to Leh and rest at the hotel.

DAY 11 - Delhi
Fly to Delhi, arrive and transfer to hotel; afternoon and evening free
Early morning we will be transferred to the airport to board the flight for Delhi; arrive at Delhi and transfer to the hotel for check-in. Rest of the day is free to relax at the hotel.

DAY 12 - Delhi
Departure to the International hotel of Delhi
Now today you will be assisted by our KVT’s representative while checking out at the hotel then you will be transferred to the International Airport of Delhi to board the flight for back home.
