| Trek Summary |
After your arrival in Delhi and visiting various attractions of the nation's capital city, we will take an early morning flight on the following day to Bagdogra. From here we take a panoramic drive through dense forests, sprawling tea-estates and picturesque villages to Darjeeling - the tea capital of India.
We will explore this fascinating town visiting the famous Mountaineering Institute, Zoo, tea-estates and the classic narrow gauge Railway. From here we will set off on the 1st phase of our trek along the spectacular Singalila Ridge, passing through scenic hillsides and Oak, Rhododendron forests.
The walk is done at a leisurely pace to experience and enjoy the local rural culture, abundant birdlife and of course the spectacular views of Everest, Kanchenjunga and other peaks. The second part of our trek passes through some thick forest valleys to the alpine pastures at the base of Kanchenjunga.
From our base camp in this area, we will visit the nearby lakes, glaciers and the 4,940M high Goechala pass for some superb views of immense ice cliffs on the southeast face of Kanchenjunga. We then descend back to Yoksam and drive to Gangtok, capital of Sikkim, to visit some monasteries followed by our return flight to Delhi. |
