Trek Summary
The tour starts from Delhi where you are met at the airport and transferred to hotel. Next day we will take the morning flight to Leh crossing over the great Himalayas. After acclimatization in Leh, we explore the magnificent local monasteries and the trek starts a day after from Stok village heading west towards Stok Kangri massif and Stok La pass.

We will cross Zingchen River a few times on our way to Ganda La pass (4680M). The surrounding landscape lies in the shadow of picturesque Karakoram Range. Following the Markha river we head east up to Markha monastery, famous for its traditional buddhist paintings. It is an exciting route passing through remote villages, ancient buddhist monasteries and crossing over high passes in an almost mystical landscape of contorted mountain strata.

This northern end of Zanaskar Range is home to the blue sheep and ibex, which can be spotted high on the valley slopes. We follow the valley and climb to shepherd huts on the Nimaling Plains (4720M) before crossing the Kongmaru La pass (5200M). Here we enjoy the superb mountain panorama and later descend through the gorges of wonderfully colored rocks to Martselang, where we meet our Jeeps to visit the famous Hemis monastery before arriving back in Leh.

From Leh, we fly back to Delhi where we have an option of visiting the magnificent Taj Mahal in Agra or spend the day in India's capital city for individual exploration / relaxing.
