Trek Summary
Starting from the pilgrimage town of Manikaran, our trek follows the trails along the Parbati river passing through lush pine forests full of abundant bird life. Higher up we see spectacular open meadows full of wild flowers. Gradually we climb towards the Parbati Pass (5,319 m) over a moraine glacier with magnificent views of the snowcapped peaks all around.

Enjoying the scenic view of Parbati range and Spiti peaks from the pass we proceed with our descend crossing the Himalayan rain shadow into a barren but picturesque landscape. The trek further passes through Parbati valley wildlife sanctuary into the land of lamas and monasteries. From here we will travel by jeeps/coach through the beautiful Spiti valley visiting the famous monasteries of Ki, Kibber, Tabo, Dhankar and Bimkali temple - known for its unique architectural blend of Hinduism and Tibetan Buddhism.

From here we will drive to Simla - the capital of Himachal Pradesh and a popular hill station. Simla was the summer capital of British India and the reminders of Raj (rule) are visible in various landmarks and local attractions. From Simla we will travel back to Delhi by train enjoying a part of our descend from the Himalayas in a classic narrow guage train.
