Trek Summary
Starting from Delhi by car / coach we head towards Rishikesh, ancient piligrimage town in the Gharwal Himalayas. Later in the evening we will visit the local temples and ghats (banks) along the Ganges. Following morning we will drive up to Gaurikund, the starting point of our trek. Our trek will be carried out in two phases and passes through the spiritual heartland of the subcontinent taking a very old pilgrim route from Kedar Nath (visiting the ancient Kedar Nath temple) to the source of holy Ganges at Gangotri.

In the first phase we continue our trek from Gauri-Kund via Soneprayag, Panwalikanta Buddha Kedar, Belak etc. passing through picturesque villages, terraced fields and the enchanting Bugyals (Alpine meadows). We finally descend to the Malla road head, completing the first phase of our trek and from here we are transferred by car/coach to Gangotri - the most scenic Dham (pilgrimage site) in the Garhwal Himalayas.

We start the second phase of our trek from Gangotri walking through lush rhododendron forests and alpine pastures to visit Gaumukh (cow snout). It is here that the Ganges gushes out from the glacier snout overlooked by Shivling (6,543M), a majestic spire of rock and ice. We cross the rubble strewn glacier slopes that lead to the vast meadow at Tapovan. After spending a couple of nights in this fabulous location and excursions to the nearby Kedar Dome and Meru glacier, we retrace our steps to Gangotri and drive back to Delhi via Uttarkashi, Rishikesh and the magnificent pilgrimage town of Haridwar.
